Todd Shaw has over 40 years of experience in residential construction and property maintenance. Starting out as a carpenter’s helper, Todd acquired the knowledge and skills to move up the ladder as a carpenter (framer, trim carpenter, finish carpenter and cabinet maker). Todd is also an Eagle Scout (1980), author of several books and is a keynote speaker.
My Granddaddy King ran a saw mill and my dad was a manager for a large lumber and construction company in South Carolina so I guess you can say that Saw Dust runs in my blood (and in my lungs). Whether it was in 4-H or Boy Scouts, on the farm or around the house, I’ve been working with wood from an early age.
Most carpenters or woodworkers won't share their tools, but the good ones will share their knowledge. “Can I show you this little trick”, I’m very thankful that skilled carpenters watched me work and then offered me their advanced skills to help me to become a better craftsman, I'm a better woodworker because of their willingness to teach others.
Become a student of learning, that is what the “Saw Dust Dude” show is all about, learning more about our trade or hobby. So, if you are a carpenter or a woodworker, beginner or professional, join me on this journey.
I would love to hear from you so share your thoughts about the show, ideas you'd like to see or show off you latest masterpiece. Drop me a note!
